In this issue:
Vioxx or bodywork?
What's a person to
do? They've taken Vioxx off the market!
Worse yet, questions
are being raised about other medications. In fact, if you listen
to the same sources I do, you've lately heard the entire FDA system
for approving and monitoring prescription medication called into
question. Ouch!
At issue seem to be
various "side effects" which, in truth, are simply additional
"effects."
Don't get me wrong.
Modern medicine given at the right time to the right person saves
lives. Lots of them. Not only that, medicine can
dramatically improve quality of life. I don't mean to pitch it
all in the garbage!
But let's keep in
mind what medicine can and can't do.
A substance like
Vioxx is designed to address the effects of mechanical wear and tear
on the body. The after-effects. A pill really can't do
anything for the wear and tear itself. Not even a "natural"
alternative.
You can, though.
You can minimize the wear and tear on your body by optimizing your
body alignment.
You may need some
help. The muscles that control your body's alignment are often
not under your conscious control. They respond to factors like
the after-effects of previous injuries or trauma and energy congestion
from chronic stress.
You'll need to
address those issues directly. But you can. They can be
resolved, and your body can return to its proper alignment. That
will minimize the further wear and tear on your joints. Much as
aligning your car frame minimizes wear and tear on your tires.
Medicine at the
right time and place — by all means. But if you can solve a
problem directly rather than simply managing symptoms, why not go for
it?
