Introducing the "Wellness Challenge"

The challenge is on

Hi again.  Here's the surprise I promised you.  Let's have some fun with this challenge:  I challenge you to use the information we've been talking about since January to take on a health-promoting project in your life.  (We're calling this the EMAIL CHALLENGE. There's a CONTEST, too.  More about that in a minute.)

Now let's be clear.  Basically, anything constructive you feel strongly about will do for this CHALLENGE.  Because anything you feel strongly about will affect your health.

I've seen it.  I've experienced it.  You may have, too:

  1. People with relationship problems they didn't solve who became careless and accident-prone.
  2. People who created relationship problems (including relationships with employers) because they were dissatisfied with their personal lives (leading to #1).
  3. Intelligent, capable people who accepted welfare and/or disability income rather than find ways to earn a living.  (Of course, they had to stay disabled to qualify.)
  4. People who said "I'd rather be sick than..." learn to eat a healthier diet, quit smoking, or take up an exercise program
  5. And the guilt caused by numbers 1-4 above magnifies unbelievably whatever other health quirks may have been lurking in the background.
  6. There's more, but —

But let's get to the point.  How could we use this to make your life better?

The set-up.

  1. Today is October 1st.  Starting today, you'll take on a 3-month project that will complete on December 31st.  You'll manifest something amazing!
  2. You'll choose a project that intrigues and challenges you.  Probably something you've been putting off for a while.  You'll identify a specific result you want.  (If you need ideas, check out our Healthy Client Success Factors.)
  3. You'll build in support and accountability for yourself by registering your intended result at a special email address I'll give you in a few minutes.
  4. Over the next several months, you and everyone else who participates in the EMAIL CHALLENGE will receive a special series of emails from me offering tips, suggestions, support, and encouragement in manifesting the goal you chose.  NOTE: This special email series will only go to people who register for the EMAIL CHALLENGE.  If you participate, your special emails will arrive every 7-10 days through the end of December.
  5. Everyone who participates will have access to a special email address to send questions, thoughts or comments.  I'll answer questions personally as much as possible; some questions may be featured in the special email series or this newsletter.  I will be asking for your feedback as we go along!
  6. NOW FOR the contest:  From the EMAIL CHALLENGE entries, I'm going to select one participant to receive 6 one-hour telephone coaching calls with me (free) over the three month period -- supporting you directly to achieve the goal you've chosen.  That person will be the CONTEST WINNER.

Rules (we have to have 'em)

  1. Entries for the CONTEST must be received by 4pm Central Standard Time on Monday, October 4th, 2004.  You may send entries through midnight CST on Friday, October 8th to be included in the EMAIL CHALLENGE.
  2. An entry consists of (1) your name, (2) the measurable result you intend to produce on or before December 31, 2004, and (3) a few sentences (more if you like) describing the importance in your life of achieving the result you've chosen.  Please also indicate (4) that you are at least 18 years of age.
  3. Send your entry to this email address: challenge@wellnessimages.com.  No later than 6pm CST on October 4, I will acknowledge all entries received.  If you do not get an acknowledgement by 6pm CST Monday, your entry was not received.
  4. You must be an active subscriber to my e-newsletter as of 4pm Central Standard Time on Monday, October 4th, 2004 in order to participate in the CHALLENGE or CONTEST.
  5. You must be at least 18 years of age on October 4th, 2004 in order to win the CONTEST.  If you're under 18 and want to participate in the CHALLENGE, I'll need permission from a parent or guardian.
  6. In order to win the CONTEST, you must be willing to have the general nature of our coaching exchange made available for public education and information.  Personal details can be protected and kept private.
  7. There are currently 181 active subscribers to my e-newsletter.  Some subscribers may recruit friends between now and Monday, so the total number of entries could exceed 181.
  8. The winning CONTEST entry will be selected from those received by 4pm CST Monday October 4th.  Criteria for winning are as follows: (1) your goal must be clear, specific, and measurable, (2) your goal must be legal and ethical, (3) it must be achievable within the time-frame specified, (4) and you must convey the importance of this goal in your life.  All entries meeting these criteria will be sorted according to the passion inspired by the entrant's description of criteria #4, importance of the goal in your life.  No less than 25% of the entries received will be sorted into a "high passion" group.  From the group of highest-passion responses, a single winner will be randomly selected by drawing.  The CONTEST winner will be notified by email no later than 4pm CST Tuesday October 5th.

Ready, set, enter.  Here's what to do:

  1. Choose your project.
  2. Identify a specific, measurable outcome that will let you know you've achieved your objective.
  3. Write down a few sentences (more if you like) describing the importance of achieving the goal you've chosen.
  4. Make sure you let me know you're at least 18 years old.
  5. Send your entry to challenge@wellnessimages.com.
  6. Get your friends in on it, too.
  7. Somebody's going to win 6 hours of free coaching!
